My coworker’s dumped some work on my other coworker’s desk so she can be on maternity leave. Why does she get rewarded 12 weeks paid leave for crapping out another child? What I really mean is why doesn’t my non-babied coworker get rewarded for not having a child? Shouldn’t she get some environmental award for not overpopulating the Earth?  Where’s my fraternity leave where I get 12 weeks paid vacation to go get drunk in Mexico? (I’m good with people getting the time off, I personally think Americans need a lot more time away from work. I just think my other coworker who’s dealt the extra work and has consciously decided never to have children should be rewarded the same vacation time as a thank you for not creating little polluters/resource-wasters. One created two babies and got time off, the other worked six months extra. Side bar: It blows my mind how over-population isn’t even a topic of discussion, especially as we exponentially increase our consumption of finite resources.)

  4. styro said: TRUE DAT. Also, once people have kids, they take a huge amount more time out of work to deal with those kids. Which, I’m glad they have that. But we should have “chill the fuck out and be awesome” time off.
